Idiocracy (2006) was a movie about a future where the entire human race becomes very stupid, and "predicted" a lot of things decades in advance- including Crocs. The filmmakers wanted clothing that looked futuristic but stupid-looking; and discovered Crocs when they were still a new unknown company. So the movie features the ridiculous plastic footwear years before they actually became popular.
