I had a blast. The only downside is the world map, which could use some improvements. It's also missing a nice ending cutscene.

A #Metroidvania #IndieGame that hooked me and then lost me was #PrimalPlanet. Fantastic pixel visuals, atmosphere, and story, but the navigation and design choices felt convoluted, which dragged down what should’ve been a well rounded adventure.

I tried my best to attempt a full completion too!

I've just got done trying out a cool new metroidvania called Primal Planet. You play as a caveman fighting against dinos...and other things.

And activating this portal after defeating the alien leader is the ending. A little abrupt. #PrimalPlanet

The alien commander attacks on an armored T-rex and after defeating it he pulls out his blaster and tries to finish us off but the husband and wife get him from both sides with a arrow and a thrown spear and finish him off. #PrimalPlanet

Immediately maxing out Sino's speed as soon as we make it through the alien portal making this 100% of the skill trees maxed out. #PrimalPlanet

Putting 10 of these battery things in this underwater portal at the bottom of the base sends you to the alien Moon base. #PrimalPlanet

And so our daughter is saved from aliens. This is where the game originally ended. There was a post launch update that added a new area with an actual final boss though. #PrimalPlanet

All the way on the right side of the base is a giant tank with the Allosaurus and it's babies inside. If you break them out you get a trophy. #PrimalPlanet

Breaking into the underwater alien base which is the other unreachable half of the initial base you could get into from the cannibals side with the warp gate. Getting the last two secrets in the game which are apparently a gun and a single rock. #PrimalPlanet

Got his health to max now. #PrimalPlanet

No contact damage makes things like this way too easy. You can literally just swim into it's middle and stab it to death while it tries to turn left and right to get at you. #PrimalPlanet

Unfortunately a lot of the ocean is pretty empty even for secrets. Only thing to really do down here is admire the backgrounds and grab the trophy for 10 Eeel things and 10 Big jellyfish. #PrimalPlanet

Almost the entire right half of the map is one big ocean area. Full of sharks and dolphins. #PrimalPlanet

Finished off maxing out Sino's Lunge damage. #PrimalPlanet

I cannot say that I expected the wife to still be alive after eating an alien walker exploding on top of her but god damn do I not mind it. She was hidden away in one of the people tubes in the 2nd alien base. #PrimalPlanet

I'm surprised it took until I got to the 2nd Alien base area behind the keycard door near the start of the game to get the 10 Alien killed trophy there were a ton of them in the cannibal base. #PrimalPlanet

I don't think I used the bone trap or the weapon poison a single time in my entire play through. #PrimalPlanet

On my way back through the zones because there is no fast travel so I had to hoof it. I got the 10 Terrorbird kill trophy. #PrimalPlanet
