A screenshot of an Obsidian Document, the text reads: Pegada-type Carrack The Pegada-type Carrack was a design created by The Free Company of Mark Antonio Latim, and Associates, as a proposed upgrade to the Republic of Centria Navy's Vagadal-class Cruisers to better suit pirate hunting for the new navy. 7 of the 15 Centrian Vagadals were converted before the Falkreth War broke out. With the loss of the Vagadal-class General Somaler the program was discontinued and all the ships were either auctioned off, or scrapped with the unconverted ships. Faced with a much less profitable venture than initially anticipated, The Free Company of Mark Antonio Latim, and Associates, decided to start converting ships for their own efforts and that of other privateers. They later purchased a license for production of Vagadals, and alongside the recently created Antonia Marcus Shipyards began building Pegada-type ships, due to the popularity of the conversion. The 750mm Rail-laid cannon was developed specifically for the ship, and a later version would be used on the Greylance-class Battleship, and the BB Alfai Greendrist. The conversion is primarily characterised in an almost complete removal of the primary battery, reducing it down to 2 single mounts in the bow. The addition of laser armament cuts ammunition costs rapidly, alongside switch to the cheaper 20mm ammunition type, and the newly minted 94mm Flak ammunition, with more yield than the Terran 76mm, but lower fire rate, making a more potent anti-ship weapon but reducing its effectiveness in the anti-missile department. To make up for this shortcoming, 178mm Multiple launch missile batteries are mounted instead, with primary anti-capital capabilities coming from the keel-mounted railgun.
Alongside the primary battery changes, the aft landing pads were given a structure for mounting external pods, the Latim-type Interchangeable backpack system, and the underside gained some boarding netting. Numerous changes were also made to the internal systems, swapping out the LiDAR and Radar for better ones, restructuring the mess hall, and retrofitting the captain's cabin with a hammock and ship's mast. Armament: - Fixed 750mm Rail-laid Cannon - 4 * 1 DPL-200-10 Laser - 2 * 1 30cm L/38 DP - 6 * 8 Cell 178mm MLRS - 14 * 4 94mm L/40 Flak - 26 * 20mm-L120-9 PD - 2 mounts for Latim-type Interchangeable backpack system - Boarding nets
