My friends McKenzie and Nick brought their children on one of the walks to the pier for the library. We stood together on Main Street and held our signs high and were brave for our local library. We proved that standing up for what you believe in does matter, integrity does matter, action and inaction does matter. The power will always belong to the people, we just need to stand together and fight for what is right.
I was holding my breath for such a long time, but Huntington Beach passed the measures to save our library. We did it 💓

Luckily, a lot of good people live here too and they stopped the weirdo right wing nonsense from passing. Thank you to all the protest organizers, and everyone else that helped and joined in. It’s been surreal having people scream obscene accusations at me because I stand with the librarians, oppose book bans and oppose corrupt corporate takeovers of cherished government institutions.
