It's been a while since I posted #FourierTransforms, so thought I would risk getting bored with some periodic tilings... until I've found a nice case of #pseudosymmetry in a Tartan pattern 🧐 Can you spot its origin? (pun intended) #crystallography

Working on a review, I dug up some interesting #pseudosymmetry facts. Can you guess the % of triclinic structures from the CSD @ccdc.cam.ac.uk having unit cells with angles 90°, 90°, 90° +/-0.1°? And how many monoclinic ones? #crystallography ( #MOF structures follow essentially the same statistics)
