If the administration moves to restrict #PSLF as planned, borrowers’ mental and physical wellbeing are at risk. This group already reports elevated psychological distress; my surveys show suicidal ideation rates 4× the national rate — measured before this threat.

There are few researchers who know more about peoples' experiences in #PSLF than I do and so many on are edge right now because of the combination of #IDR repayment issues and the idea that maybe in a week their jobs no longer count for PSLF.

So people in the #SAVE forbearance will have to switch - no date yet. Who is confident in EDs ability to process these switches before people get screwed over?

@fetterman.senate.gov sent me back two responses one of which didn't even mention #highered, #studentloans or #pslf. And another that was about criminal justice reform which I do care about but didn't write him about. My state rep was kind but didn't offer any assistance.

From the #DOE or #MOHELA. #PSLF has so much red tape, and uncertainty that I honestly feel dumb for relying on it like it was a real thing. I've submitted numerous requests in the past year including those to restart my monthly payments.

Just so folks are aware the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program of #pslf is a mystical, magical lottery that bestows it gifts on some folks and not on others. I've officially hit one year since I have would have been eligible for #forgiveness and I have no heard a single substantive update

When I was still doing expungements (which I should maybe start doing again?), I did SO MANY of them for folks getting nursing licenses.

The new #PSLF rules claiming that nursing degrees are not professional are aimed at harming these people, at keeping them poor & desperate.
