It’s not at the standard of #PursuitofJade, but if you can watch it as a brooding adventure story with a Game of Thrones type vibe, it’s actually quite fun
The first few whiplash episodes (which contain a lot of flashbacks) are the weakest part of the drama, but it slows down from around ep 6 or 7

It has to be said. The notion that #ZhangLinghe is the reason for #PursuitofJade being top Cdrama of 2026 is nonsense. Yes he's beautiful - prefer his manlier look in #PrincessRoyal - but any competent Chinese ML would've sufficed in that all-round excellent series. Everything about it is 🌟.

It appears to be a required trope in K & C dramas. Even #PursuitofJade came up with a "they would've been connected as children" scenario. I want to say WHO remembers their first love as little kids & suddenly my mind said, "Leo, grade 1" & "Lyle, grade 3". Out of nowhere! Ancient personal history!

Finished #cdrama #PursuitOfJade. Family/political alignments didn't really solidify until late in the series which frustrated me but the visuals made up for it. Cinematically there were parts that reminded me of how some of the old painting masters used a chiaroscuro technique. Overall I enjoyed it!
