This lovely picture was displayed at John Pidcock’s funeral last week. John was a founder member of #PushBikes #Birmingham cycling campaign in 1979. Taking a long time to get a safe 8-80 active travel network. But a lot of progress too.

Birmingham UK we started in 1979 when heroes from @foeeurope.bsky.social saw a Regional Transport Plan with no reference to cycling. 46 years later #PushBikes is still campaigning now with our friends @betterstreetsforbirmingham.org
Great to start with local trips. Proper network can take long time
