Over the last 13 years, A&E waiting times have changed dramatically.
In 2013, over 90% of patients were seen within 4 hours in major A&E unit (type 1s). After lots of fluctuation during the pandemic, this now sits at around 60%.

The chart shows an increase between 2009 and 2019, before a fall back to 2010 levels (just over 6%) by 2023.
