The tenements have never been replaced, and much of the place where they once stood remains a gap site to this day.

These were caused by shrapnel from a German parachute mine which exploded at 12:40 on the 14th of March 1941. It destroyed a row of tenements on the opposite side of Queen Margaret Road (see maps below), killing one person.

If you examine the northeast corner of the parapet of the Queen Margaret Drive Bridge in Glasgow, you can the granite is covered with pock-marks (top picture).
