Als die US-Soldaten eintreffen, sehen sie einen Lagerkomplex mit doppeltem Stacheldraht umgeben Auf. dem Appellplatz im Lager liegen |mehrere Dutzend völlig abgemagerte Häftlinge in gestreifter Häftlingskleidung. Die Überlebenden vegetieren völlig entkräftet, ohne medizinische Versorgung und Verpflegung. Ohrdruf ist ein Sterbelager, dem die SS erkrankte Häftlinge ihrem Schicksal überließ. Als die Alliierten immer näher kommen, treibt die SS am 2.4. die marschfähigen Häftlinge zusammen. Es folgt ein Todesmarsch in das KZ Buchenwald. Auf diesem Marsch sterben unzählige Häftlinge, andere werden von der SS erschossen.
5.4.1945 NS-Zwangsarbeitslager Ohrdruf von US-Einheiten befreit. Erstes befreites Lager mit überlebenden Gefangenen, die Auskunft über ihr Schicksal geben können.
