Great News for #NewWest! The #Queensborough School Bus gets another year :)

Not permanent, and not free, so not perfect, for the promise of permanent and free remains unfulfilled-but still, this is a good thing.

I guess $80k for World Cup parties is a small win for #NewWest but what we REALLY need is for #NDP to keep their promise to fund the #Queensborough school bus, @davidebybc.bsky.social & @lisabeare.bsky.social. A promise is a promise. Bring it home & bring those kids to school, please & thanks.

Queens officials and NYSDOT outline Van Wyck Expressway widening, HOV lane and sewer work, with finish expected in 2026 New York State DOT told a Queens Borough briefing that the Van Wyck reconstruction (including a managed-use HOV lane, bridge widenings, noise mitigation and a large sewer connection) is largely complete in sections and is expected to finish in 2026; DOT described mitigation, a 2,800‑tree planting plan and final paving steps.

Major upgrades to the Van Wyck Expressway are underway, promising improved traffic flow, a new HOV lane, and a $20 billion investment into JFK Airport's future!
