Commander Beida is the leader of the crew and head of this mission. He's Cetalesti, a cetacean alien race that, along with the Olm race, were among the first to communicate and collaborate across lightyears of open space. He is the Intergalactic Alliance's pride and joy. Commander Beida is the face of the Alliance and is well recognized among nearly every alien race. He's perhaps a bit naïve but Kassidy, his second in command, tends to keep him grounded. Beida has inexplicable strokes of luck that get him out of dangerous situations, and he attributes much of his success to this strange quirk of his. The cape on his uniform was actually a personal request of his. It very quickly became popular and now has been adopted into the official Intergalactic Alliance uniform design.

Kassidy is the ship's security officer and Beida's right hand man. He's Asterellian, a little known race of reptilian bipeds born with super-regenerative abilities. Unfortunately, most of their people were conquered by a hostile alien species. Kassidy has escaped his home planet, but at the cost of his regenerative abilities. Kassidy is cold and calculating, distrustful of most and difficult to get to know. He is very attached to Commander Beida, whom he regards as his savior, and will do anything to protect him. He is skeptical of the higher ups of the Intergalactic Alliance, and has some pointed criticism about their outreach programs for the underprivileged.

A robot named M1NG, who is a medical robot. They’re a TV objecthead with yellow eyes and mouth on a black screen. They have cranes game cranes for arms, with an extra pair that protrude from their back.
MING is a medical robot assigned to the ship to maintain the general health of the crew throughout the journey. They are an advanced artificial intelligence courtesy of the Intergalactic Alliance. M1NG is one of the first robots of their kind, designed to not only take care of the physical health of the crew, but possesses enough intelligence to keep their mental and emotional health in check as well. Despite being a robot, M1NG seems to feel a degree of loneliness all holed up in the med-bay. Luckily, Keekyne has taken an interest in them, and enjoys modifying their terrestrial body to varying degrees of success. M1NG tries to get along with everyone on board, but has a rocky relationship with Kassidy, who doesn't trust any "intelligent life" hailing from the higher ups at the Alliance, artificial or not. Most of the time, M1NG is a friendly face mounted to the wall, using several extendable arms and tools that emerge from the walls of the med-bay. They also can exit the ship through their terrestrial body, a standard bipedal model with a first-aid backpack.

Three anthropomorphic bug-like creatures. They have bug heads and antennae with three large eyes, four long arms and an outer shell with spindly legs. They’re orange, yellow and red and are each distinguishable by their red, green and blue facial markings. The text reads, “RGB, xenobiologists.”
RGB are xenobiologists, aboard the ship in order to do research and collect samples. They are a hive mind collective of three Hexapi seekers. Hexapi all share a 'mind network' where they think and feel as a singular being. They seek to expand their knowledge of the known universe and work in tandem to accomplish this. For the convenience of the crew, these Hexapi have marked themselves with face paint that represents their corresponding 'names' (Red, Blue, and Green). It may seem that as a hivemind, they have no distinct personality or interesting quirks - but that couldn't be further from the truth. They are all, in fact, a hater. The Hexapi despise the bureaucracy of the Intergalactic Alliance, and bemoan their forced participation in it. They are wary of others but seem to enjoy Kassidy's similar distrust with the system. Their unique stomach acid allows them to digest just about anything, but they seem to have a penchant for sweets.

Keekyne is the ship's engineer. She's Lorkeetau, a canid/avian alien race known for their excellent hearing. This allows her to detect problems in machinery just by listening, in spite of her poor eyesight. She's worked with the ship extensively and knows all its ins and outs, affectionately naming it "Cydney". She sees Cygnus as a home away from home, and finds herself happiest when she is aboard it. Keekyne is extroverted and eager to make friends, but a little air headed at times. She is closest to Niall on a personal level, but she and Beida also enjoy each other's company as drinking buddies. She's a fan of video games and will often jailbreak her hardware to play around with them.

Niall, a Felisiren, which is a fictional race in Cygnus-13. He’s a blue and pink hued amphibious cat with large green eyes, long ears and extended gills around his face. His tail grows into a webbed oval around the tip. He’s wearing a well-decorated uniform, indicating he’s hard working.The text says that he is a communications officer.
Text reads: Niall is the crew's Communications Officer. He's Felisiren, an amphibious alien race that are known for being at the forefront of engineering and manufacturing astro-technology, but Niall has no interest in that. He has several degrees in anthropology and cognitive sciences. He is fascinated by social behavior, despite being a bit awkward himself. His eyesight grants him the ability to pick up micro expressions which give him an advantage in determining the social vibe of the room. The problem is, he does not know yet how to respond to said vibe in a natural way. He is fond of jokes that transcend language and cultural boundaries, as well as "...NOT" jokes (like from BORAT).
