Three round raku white crackle vases with a green rim. The crackles are varied in size, with some dark black spots that are actually micro crackles in the glaze.

I did a raku firing with my class last week. There was enough space for me to get these round vases in, a white crackle glaze. I wish I’d got darker crackle lines. The small dark spots are actually micro crackles.

Raku ware is a type of pottery traditionally used in tea ceremonies. Hand-shaped rather than wheel-thrown, each piece is unique, embracing the wabi-sabi aesthetic of beauty in imperfection. The firing process often results in unexpected colors and textures. #RakuWare #Pottery #WabiSabi
