Bryan Gee has a really great detailed presentation on messy affiliations data across repositories, particularly the horrible @figshare.com supplemental information content from papers. They used OpenAlex content to try to infer affiliations #RDAP25

Great #RDAP25 keynote by @cfiesler.bsky.social on AI training data and the risks of "public" data. Twitter data got used a lot because it was easy to access. Most twitter users didn't know their data was being used. Researchers generally don't consider data ethics. Resources: bit.ly/ai-ethics-news

We've talked about so many kinds of communities of practice these three days, and I really really appreciate the openness, welcoming, and enthusiasm of the RDAP community.
One takeaway from @cfiesler.bsky.social is that it is not really ethical to use public data, e.g. tweets, reddit, for research without poster consent. Context matters. #rdap25 #rdap2025
