Having to spend several weeks recovering from a medical procedure kind of sucked, but damn did it make my July #ReadingRoundup impressive.

My @thestorygraph.com June round-up. I was a prolific reader last month, but I wasn't consistent at reviewing every book I read (sometimes it feels like the added task and executive function to review everything takes away some of the joy of reading for pleasure) #booksky #June #readingroundup πŸ’™πŸ“š

Here's my April reading roundup. I'm not going to get anything else finished today, unfortunately. I read a lot of poetry in celebration of National Poetry Month, and I'm looking forward to finishing a few more before the end of the year.

Words of Radiance by Brandon Sanderson - 6/5. JESUS. CHRIST. This takes the building from The Way of Kings and bumps it to 100. I've heard Oathbringer is better but I truly do not understand how that's going to be possible. Probably my favorite BrandoSando book to date.

The Utterly Uninteresting and Unadventurous Tales of Fred, the Vampire Accountant by Drew Hayes - 4.5/5. Do you ever want to know what it would be like to have a character like Guillermo de la Cruz be a vampire AND an accountant? That's basically Fred. This book is super low stakes and humor abound.

The Road by Cormac McCarthy - 3.5/5. I... guess I understand why people find this book so hard to read but the writing style is not my cup of tea. It felt like talking to someone who calls movies films.

Edgedancer by Brandon Sanderson - 5/5. A novella taking place between books 2 and 3 of Stormlight Archive. I love Lift so much. I can't wait to see her character expanded on in future books (and even her whole POV book in SLA arc 2!).

Next up: Faithbreaker, not sure maybe Paladin's Grace or something, and then Oathbreaker
