A 36"/~90cm wide by 20"/~50cm tall mixed media painting on canvas. The painting depicts the Destiny 2 Stasis elemental pulse rifle, Redrix's Estoc, rendered in acrylic, watercolor, pencil, and ink. The applied shader is Tyrian Abyss, applying bright blues and subtle off-white tones, leaving a dark finish on the metallic hardware. Above the rifle is a depiction of an fantastical estoc (based primarily off of an example held at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC), the armor piercing sword that the rifle takes it's name from. The two sit parallel to each other and the canvas, depicting a kind of orthographic view of the items, set on a background of noisy and subtle but distinct mixed media textures, made from collaged paper, acrylic paint, and aerosol splatter and drips. The original painting was created as a fundraiser raffle prize benefitting St Jude, to be awarded at the end of GCX 2025 in Orlando, Florida. Prints will be available at the event, and online.
