#RescueUpdate
After a difficult rescue and a long journey to safety, Veer is finally home at our Elephant Hospital Campus (EHC).
Now the real work begins. Healing his injured body. You can help: give.wildlifesos.org/page/183612/...
Here he cautiously gets on the scale so we can get his weight.

#RescueUpdate Veer is home!
The ambulance has arrived at the Wildlife SOS Elephant Hospital. As the ramp door opened, he paused for a second. Slowly, he stepped forward, leading with his trunk, sniffing, exploring, trying to understand where he was. There was hesitation, yes - but also courage.
#RescueUpdate An unexpected hurdle.
While travelling through uneven terrain, the ambulance got stuck in the mud. These journeys often come with sudden challenges, but our team is equipped with the necessary gear to safely get it out.
And it seemed a good opportunity to let Veer sleep again.
#RescueUpdate During the journey, Veer made a soft rumble, a gentle sound that told us he needed something.
We understood he was asking for food, and offered him freshly procured cucumbers, which he ate calmly. We’re listening to every small cue from him, making sure his needs are met at every step.

Veer has struggled for most of his life. Now that he’s finally with us, we want to make sure he doesn’t feel even an inch of that struggle again, not even during this travel. Every pause, every step, every decision is about helping him feel safe and cared for. ❤️🩹

#RescueUpdate A wholesome moment that said everything. A moment that carried hope and the beginning of something better.
Veer stretched his trunk out of the ambulance, curiously reaching toward the world beyond, as if trying to understand this new chapter that awaited him. He's so tall! 🐘
#RescueUpdate On the way, our team stopped to procure fresh fodder so Veer could eat during the journey. Making sure he has fresh food to keep up his energy as we continue this long road to safety.

#RescueUpdate Veer’s crippled condition make it difficult for him to stand for more than a few hours. So we’re taking this journey slowly. We got an excavator to create a slope for him to step down safely from the ambulance, and to prepare a mud bed where he could lie down.
