To me it's a strong condemnation of this whole pattern of webapp development. We aren't lowly apps, we can't have total control over the UX! The user has agency with HTML/the web and it's our job to respect that.

i personally *detest* #OPFS, as it's this poisonous piece of shit "for the developers" mentality that hides things from the user. filthiest #rfc8890 non-compliance, dictated by bad impulses. but it was a convenient easy start & is the current means for using the fast modern web fs api. use it.
