Prompt 2 for #riddlerweek - Robot
Went with Arkham Knight Riddler for this one. He builds a lot of robots in that game and I love how obsessive and messy he is going about it. But also I like to think he wants to be a better dad to his bots than his own dad was to him.

A doll photoshoot with Arkham City Riddler stood in front of a desk with a mirror behind it. The mirror has two large cracks meaning the reflection of his face is obscured although you can see the two broken pieces of his cane he is holding aloft. The desk is littered with screwed up paper.

Think I might try posting on here again so lets do that with #riddlerweek
prompt 1 - Break
Decided to go with breakdown for this one. Sometimes Riddler's been trying so hard and failing so much that it all comes crashing down and he's had enough. He just wants to go home.
The #riddlerweek 2026 AO3 collection is now open!

#riddlerweek is happening here and on tumblr so you can share the entries in either place or both! New works added to the AO3 collection will have links put on both sites when possible unless already shared by the original creator. There won't be any reposting done across the sites. I hope everyone is having fun and is in high anticipation for #riddlerweek. 2025 had such a good turn out and I have high hopes for this year. Be ready to like, kudos, comment and share! Whether you can contribute yourself or not, being a part of it is all we ask. Celebrate Riddler as he deserves.
Old works that fit the prompts are encouraged to be reshared, whether you also have something new or not. We want as many Riddler themed posts as we can get for #riddlerweek. Maybe you have an unfinished piece you didn't share or a work on AO3 you never linked. It's time to shamelessly self-promote.
We're on the final countdown but no need to panic. If you haven't finished, or haven't started, you can still share what you can in #riddlerweek. Whether that's an ethereal idea, a wip or a supportive comment, it's welcome. This isn't meant to be stressful but a collaborative celebration of Riddler.
ONLY ONE WEEK TO GO!
The time is nearly upon us when you'll be sharing or enjoying new #Riddlerweek posts. Unfinished snippets are welcome and could promote discussion and more creativity. Don't fret about getting all prompts finished. Be excited to reblog and comment on all the good stuff we get.
This is our second event and we met a lot of talented people in the first year. The community of fans is truly special and I hope to see more of us for this #riddlerweek. You're just as welcome here for liking and sharing entries though don't be shy about leaving creators nice comments. Have fun!
Image from Harley Quinn (2016) #61 drawn by Otto Schmidt. Catowman and Riddler are dressed in ren-faire type attire. She has a purple cloak and her classic mask. He is wearing an Elizabethan style outfit in green, complete with domino mask and oversized beret. A sword and dagger hang from his belt and his tunic is trimmed with question marks.
AUs and OCs are very welcome in #riddlerweek and DC have had plenty of their own unique takes. A fantasy style Riddler appears in 2016's Harley Quinn series. In a city transformed by magic, some things remain the same such as Ed's intelligence and penchant for riddles. What would you keep or change?
With 7 prompts to consider for #riddlerweek you may be overwhelmed with possibilities or else floundering for ideas. Remember you don't need do them all and you can combine prompts if you want to cover more ground. Follow the inspiration wherever it leads and we'll happily see what you come up with.
A screenshot of Jim Carrey's Riddler from Batman Forever, standing in Two-Face's lair. He is wearing a green jacket adorned with question marks, a green bowler hat similarly marked, and a green domino mask. His arms are outstretched, with his question mark shaped cane held in his right hand, and he is grinning
Jim Carrey's Riddler was irrepressible and fit a Gotham unafraid to be gaudy. Be free of cringe this #riddlerweek and unleash your inner flamboyant. Edward came from awkward beginnings, powered by a powerful crush on his hero, to take society by storm. You too can be inspired to create your vision.
Riddles are his hallmark and everyone approaches them differently. Some require lateral thinking while others are classics that need more interpreting than solving. You can write your own but don't be afraid to rely on tried and tested for #riddlerweek. Ed's a genius for thinking them up on the fly.
A screenshot from the Harley Quinn TV series showing Riddler appearing on a TV screen with a background of cogwheels. He is wearing a deep purple jacket and tie, marked with a question mark, along with green gloves and a green top hat. Just visible under that is his question mark tattoo and a pair of goggles rests on the brim.
The Harley Quinn TV show gave us the only Riddler in a committed relationship (with Clock King). How does being a partner change him? What benefits does he find? Or does it bring irritation? We also saw him lose his hair, gain muscles, shed them, and host an escape room. All options for #riddlerweek
PROMPT IDEAS
Day 7: insomnia
There have been times Ed hasn't slept for days. Is the insomnia a new experience or something familiar? How does he cope with the long hours? Does he even notice the time? Will you consider his reliance on drugs for #riddlerweek or perhaps the assistance of friends.
The Riddler from Batwheels posed with one hand out, palm upwards, and mid-monologue. He has a shiny green spandex suit emblazoned with a purple question mark and a purple bowler hat with a green question mark. His gloves and domino mask are also purple.
Batwheels was designed for kids but can be enjoyed by all. This Riddler has a custom made helicopter called Quizz and you could focus on either for #riddlerweek. He's egotistical and too smart for his own good but that's what we love about him. Just give him space to shine and competition to beat.
Neurons firing indicate inspiration has struck. Who knows how its sparked? A song lyric, an idle conversation, a scene glimpsed briefly. Fan the flames for #riddlerweek and seek out these starting points. Bounce ideas off friends and browse posts for concepts. Everything is new when done a new time.
A still from The Batman of Paul Dano as the Riddler, albeit in civilian clothes. He is holding his hands up while being apprehended by the police. His brown hair is visible and he's wearing round wire rim glasses and a blue anorak over a white shirt.
With over a year to go until The Batman 2, why not imagine what the Riddler could get up to. We left him in Arkham with his plans only half complete. How will he deal with Batman now? Or Penguin who's taken over the crime network. And what of his meeting with Joker? Much to consider for #riddlerweek
PROMPT IDEAS
Day 6: sport
Who remembers 60s Riddler boxing Batman, the athleticism of 2004's goth version or how buff Harley Quinn's series got? To be fair, most of them aren't noted for being sporty but #riddlerweek could be a time to consider why some are and some aren't. Childhood trauma anyone?
An image of Frank Gorshin as the Riddler. He is wearing a skintight green suit, with a large black question mark on the chest, and holds one hand aloft as an exclamation point. He is grinning ferally and has a light pink domino mask over his eyes.
60 years since the 60s series so let's double the exposure. Frank Gorshin is the Riddler people best remember and he certainly enlivened our screens. Exuberant and confident, he's great for #riddlerweek. Craft crazy conundrums or orchestrate audacious operations. Steal the spotlight with this rogue.
We all have default mediums to engage in fandom but why not experiment for #riddlerweek? That may mean different styles, 1st person instead of 3rd, or trying traditional art rather than digital. Maybe try your hand at a new skill. Do your first craft, animation or audio recording. We believe in you!
An image of the Riddler from the Young Justice series. The perspective is looking up at him against a clear blue sky. He has one fist raised to grasp victory. His expression is smug and he is wearing triangular green glasses, fingerless gloves and a green jacket with black shoulders emblazoned with a green question mark.
Young Justice Riddler was smarter than everyone believed and several steps ahead in the plan. A genius tactician, even if people didn't see it, this version could be a lot of fun for #riddlerweek. He operated outside Gotham, showed an ability for teamwork and frequently got the better of the heroes.

Day 5: lies
The Riddler has had issues with the truth multiple times. From punishing liars to being unable to lie himself, riddles have been an outlet for his troubles. But maybe this #riddlerweek you want to examine his own lies. Those to others, implicit or explicit, and to himself.
A screenshot from Telltale Batman of the Riddler. He is staring intensely forward and wearing a metallic green domino mask. There is a slight break in it under his right eye. his brown hair with white side streaks is visible.
It wasn't long enough with Telltale Riddler so perhaps #riddlerweek is the time to expand on it. How did he engage with the other rogues? What was his rise to power in Gotham? Why did his challenge to the Agency go awry? Is there still tales to tell after the events of the game? Let's fill the gaps.
Whether you're a creator or not you can join in with #riddlerweek. We need people to engage with the posts, share them, like them, act as cheer leaders. Leave comments on AO3, promote with your friends. Plus, in the run-up, if you know people working to contribute, bouy them up, act as sound boards.
