Tried #MaxEffortMethod on decline #ringPushUps for BW+90x1. Might have managed a second rep, but tried and failed for +110 and then +100. I did back off with ยฑ35x19 though, which was a PR as well. This may be too cumbersome, so I may just stick with bench variations for this spot in the rotation.
Here's a rare look at a long-time staple in my #ringTraining: decline weighted #ringPushUps. This is BW+25x18, and at this angle, my body puts 145 on my hands in the bottom position--so 165 total and for two sets. This had been my back-off intensity for BW+65x9 before the deficit really set in.
My decline weighted #ringPushUps and most of my #tricepsIsolation work experienced a huge boost recently since I came off my bench taper and once again into an accumulation phase. The pushups with +60 shot from 11 to 14 over the course of a month (now +65x9) and my #JMpress is now 115x18+.
I've rounded a corner on my decline #ringPushUps, as today I stepped up the added weight to 55 and managed to finish with a top set of 10 (minimum being 2 sets of 8) and followed that up with achieving my goal of 60 reps across 2 sets unweighted, so now onto 3x20 toward a goal of 90 reps...
After all that, I managed 36 reps across 3 sets of decline #ringPushUps with 50lb on (which means I'll be doing 2x8+ with 55lb next time) and backed that off unweighted with a set of 26 and then one of 29. On that last count, I give it one or two sessions before I step up to 3x20+.
