Roland the Farter was King Henry II's royal court jester who was famous for performing an act called the "saltum, siffletum, Pettum" (a jump, a whistle, and a tart, simultaneously) for the king's court every Christmas. He was apparently so good at it that the king gave him 110 acres of land in Suffolk.
