19) Layton’s Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionaire’s Conspiracy #rollcredits. Extraordinarily weak from both a puzzle and story standpoint, and the latter is saying something considering its root series. I don’t think it’s a mystery that the series has gone nowhere since.
17) Saga of the Moon Priestess #rollcredits. Saga is kinda overselling it. It was a perfectly reasonable little Zelda clone that poked fun at itself for being a Zelda clone at least once. The ducks were amusing. Final boss was awfully Bozon-esque (derogatory).

#RollCredits on Astro’s Playroom
Played it over the weekend with my partner. Delightful platformer full of winks and nods to PlayStation things.
It’s WILD that the free include with every PS5 is this good. Four hours of wholesome PlayStation propaganda and I was here for all of it.
I'm not sure what the heck I just played, but it was something!
#Rollcredits on Indika, from #xbox #Gamespass.

#RollCredits on Persona 4: Dancing All Night
This story mode… isn’t great. But as a competent rhythm game with great Persona music and silly character animations? Mission accomplished.

#RollCredits on Mega Man 8
I beat this game a LONG time ago on PS1, but decided to replay it as a continuation of my Mega Man playthroughs from 2023/2024.
This is a good one! Solid stage designs, creative weapon implementations, and voice acting so bad that my girlfriend was RIVETED.

#RollCredits on Ghost of Tsushima
This game is gorgeous, full of collectibles, and generally a good time front to back.
I feel its gameplay loops are… good, but maybe not amazing? I was ready to end it after exploring about 75% of the map. Didn’t touch DLC. Yotei is now wishlisted.
And #rollcredits on Keeper! This was a cute puzzle game put out by Double Fine, and it was a lot of fun to play!
It's short, looks amazing, and the puzzles are very intuitive.
#xbox #gamepass #doublefine
And that's a wrap! Really enjoyed my time with The Outer Worlds 2! Took a bit to get into. Totally reminded me of Starfield, just a bit more compact. Quest tracking could have been better, but interesting story and fun characters. Overall it was a great time! #xbox #gamepass #Obsidian #rollcredits
A character from Time Hollow tells the main character, “Now it’s time for Revenge Part Deux - Revenge: The Return!” Uh, ok buddy.
The first page of credits from Time Hollow. I do wonder if that character designer also did Snatcher, ‘cause boy howdy one of the characters in this is a dead ringer for the guy on the Snatcher cover.
6) Time Hollow #rollcredits (DS). Other than a couple incidents of event flag hell that took way too long to figure out, this was a wild ride of a story that made far more sense than it had any right to. The main conflict echoes the card game Chrononauts in a way that likely makes sense only to me.
this was the extent of the ending I got, a black text box reading “The End”, after the main character had vented at his girlfriend for a bit about his frustrating final day of in-game work
the first page of the credits
Claire the butcher shop lady, discussing her love of a string band that covers metal music, an obvious reference to Apokalyptika’s “Plays Metallica By Four Cellos”. I would agree with her assessment of the quality of the covers.
Claire the butcher shop lady has been discussing food additives and also flirting with the main character. Since I’ve been working in food safety for 20 years and started out in a meat laboratory, you can see why I went down her path.
5) Culina: Hands in the Kitchen #rollcredits (Steam Deck) A VN/restaurant management sim. The VN portion was fairly straightforward (paying attention to what people say, checking all the map areas at every time period to see if you could progress).

#RollCredits on Yakuza 0 for the second time, passing the control between my partner and I.
(Turns out she loves running hostess clubs and casinos.)
Yakuza 0 is a masterpiece. Nothing much else to discuss here. I might replay it again for trophies someday, but not anytime soon.
4) Home: a unique horror adventure #rollcredits (Steam Deck). Had this sitting around from a bundle for a long time. I enjoyed it and thought it was an interesting spin on storytelling, especially since I was done in an hour. Not sure I’ll revisit but I’m glad I finally tried it.
3) Metal Slug 1st Mission #rollcredits (Neo Geo Pocket Color via Steam Deck). Easier than I expected out of the series - I remember struggling on a PS2/Wii era collection - but a surprisingly good rendition on such a tiny screen. Might play the second one too.
The final storyline quest pop up in Puzzle Quest. I messed up the screenshot of the actual credits.
2026 completed video games!
1) Puzzle Quest Immortal Edition (Steam) #rollcredits. Gifted by a friend at Christmas. This game is pretty much as good as I remembered it from cycling through all the characters on DS/360. I had a grand time buzzing through with a Ranger and will absolutely play more.

#RollCredits on Astro Bot
Adorable platformer with creative level and boss designs, around 80 stages, and plenty of collectibles. Low to medium difficulty.
I finished with around 235 rescued bots out of 301. I might work on this game the rest of the month for the platinum trophy!

#RollCredits on The Last Guardian late last night.
This is a very beautiful, atmospheric game with a few great moments, but subpar controls and camera. Very mixed feelings overall.
My last video game of 2025! Bring on the New Year.
Dragon Quest I HD-2D Remaster #rollcredits. Largely agree with what @evokerfordogs.bsky.social said earlier today. I like and appreciate the glow up. Fleshing it out from 5-8 hours to 10-12 hours didn’t feel overlong. But it also is more interesting as a relic than it is entertaining to me.

#RollCredits on Chained Echoes
Indie RPG masterpiece. Entertaining from start to finish. Interesting main story, tons of optional spaces with good rewards.
I might eventually do some postgame quests, but for now I’m content to think about that ending… for at least a month. Goddamn.

I'm actually really proud of this one.
Hades is typically outside of the genre of games I enjoy, and I struggled quite a bit at the start.
I know I've still got more to go to get the true ending, but I think I can definitely manage it.

Shiren the Wanderer: The Tower of Fortune and the Dice of Fate #rollcredits Played on Steam Deck. My playtime was 2 hours of blitzing story, hitting a brick wall, 18 hours of learning how to play the game and work the system, then 2 more hours of blitzing story. Level up jingle drove my wife nuts.
#rollcredits on Monster Hunter Wilds.
…but this ain’t no got’im. In MonHun games the credits roll after the tutorial. Now the true hunt begins.
(I’ll consider this game got once I beat the HR70 unlocked monster. Not tempered.)

#RollCredits on Pokémon Legends ZA
This is an… okay Pokémon spinoff game that isn’t excellent like its predecessor Legends Arceus, but has some good character designs and music tracks. Not a modern classic, but not a garbage fire either.
(I beat this game on Saturday but forgot to post)

#RollCredits on Dragon Quest I HD-2D Remake
This is a very charming modernization of a classic, but… it’s still a grindy one-character RPG, heh. But I had a pretty good time.
Super Mario Galaxy (replay from about 6 years ago) #rollcredits. It’s still a great game. Glad it’s back out there. All-timer of a soundtrack. Joy-Con 2 controls, detached from the system, were solid. Wish fire levels worked differently / were less punitive, but that’s a 3D Mario problem in general.

#RollCredits on Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles
The new script and voice work are outstanding, and it’s still the same game I fell in love with 20+ years ago. The best version of all-time classic.
The end of Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles, which used to read, “CONGRATULATIONS: This Game is Complete!”, echoing the usual victory screen’s “This Battle is Complete”
My crew of all Oracle/Mystics, all the time, because I am fundamentally broken and cannot play this game normally anymore
Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles #rollcredits. I played it as we did in the old days, a single-class party with only its own abilities. Mystics served me well with only three speed bumps, one of which was entirely due to guest AI.
I have a lot of thoughts, but I need to collect them.

#RollCredits on Hades II
It’s more of the loop that comprises one of my favorite games, and is RICH with gameplay variety and great dialog. I’m going to keep playing this game for a LONG time.
(Build was a quick and easy Zeus+Poseidon torches run. I probably should've added Fear.)
