A front, right-side view of Union Pacific #900081. This snowplow features a 12-foot diameter cutting wheel that would turn as fast as 150 revolutions per minute and could throw snow up to 300 feet away from the tracks. The cutting wheel was driven by a 16-cylinder 3,000-horsepower turbocharged diesel engine. It was not self-propelled and had to be pushed by at least three locomotives. This snowplow was last used in 1994 in Wyoming.
