It seems like #28W will make a run for #typhoon status, and even might become a Category 4 near the #Ryukyu Islands of #Japan. The forecast is very uncertain, but the possibility of at least Moderate Impacts does exist!

Tropical Depression Huaning has formed east of #Taiwan & may strengthen a little as it tracks northward, but likely only peaks as a TS. Storm will spread areas of heavy rain northward across the #Ryukyu Islands Monday night into Wednesday. Some rain can reach far southwest #Japan around midweek.

#Podul (former 16W) is set to intensify slowly over the next few days as it moves westward. The #JTWC predicts that #Podul will intensify into a Typhoon by 06z on the 12th of August, and estimates that it could impact northern #Taiwan and the southern #Ryukyu islands.
