It is a feast bowl by the master carver Randy Goldsmith of the Cowichen tribe, dated 1997. The smaller piece was carved by Dr. William Good and is stained all over in a warm reddish brown. Both are done in the style of the First Nation's on the Salish coast of BC

I still sometimes give myself a virtual kick for not having bought this gorgeous #RavenandSun legend plaque carved from cedar and painted by a Native #Salish artist. It was in an #Olympia, Washington art gallery in 2004 or '05. At least the gallery owner let me take a handheld photo of it.
