This gives a brief #Treaty history of the #Saugeen Peninsula my Mother in law worked on the #SON Treaty in 1994 which was close to being settled until some revisions were added and it is back in a legal abyss
Went through #Saugeen beach yesterday, my favourite fish and chips place is for sale, it was the best for many years and quietly changed hands ,I went back twice and both meals were terrible I guess I wasn't the only one not impressed
We did have a giant tiger but I think it moved ,we did groceries at an independent store in #Saugeen Beach and gassed up on the rez
I high lighted Sauble for historical reference as this is a post from the 1950s, well aware and very happy the beach is now returned to its rightful owners #Saugeen after the many years of fighting for #SaugeenBeach

So this beach on Lake Huron was awarded to Saugeen First Nation after being stolen from them in 1856. They changed the name of the beach from Sauble to Saugeen.
The municipality who stole the land were upset they weren't consulted about it first 😂
