Here we go my first @btobirds.bsky.social South East Ringers Conference at #SBBOT, the speakers and topics sound brilliant, can't wait to start!
A White Stork enjoying the breeze on Worth Marshes this afternoon. Nice to meet Neil & birder Dave who put us onto the stork. Also my first Swallow of the year. 🎥🌞💚👍 #WorthMarshes #SBBOT #kentbirding

Yesterday morning, before we came home, a couple of White Wagtails scurried around in the asparagus fields with a host of Pied Wagtails: nice comparisons followed, though seldom did we see the two distinctive forms side-by-side. Fun birds these...

A sunny, tho' really raw feeling Sunday had one stand-out for me ~ a distant but still rather snazzy & striking 2cy Caspian Gull in Pegwell Bay. The light, distance & strong ENE'ly didn't help with video grabs but you gotta cach them while you can...😅

An absolute highlight wandering to Worth was the biggest flock of Stock Doves we've ever seen: a minimum of 254 in one gathering plus maybe another 170 in other flocks in the afternoon. A couple from Rest Harrow Scrape (left) & part of the flock (right).

The RSPB reserve at Worth Marshes is looking superb at the moment ~ varying heights of water across the scrapes & pools that was attracting a lot of wildfowl by the look of our Saturday wander around the marsh. Bonus 1st Little Ringed Plover of 2025 too.

Great fun watching the three Cattle Egrets that seem to be loving life in the fields around the Observatory buildings. The first bloom of summer colour becoming well established on two of the three birds ~ seemed v much like a pair & a single.
