I spun up Seafile last night to replace my bloated Nextcloud setup (which I hadn't really used beyond WebDAV for Obsidian notes & Floccus bookmark syncing).
Documentation was definitely lacking. It didn't help that Google took me to their obsolete v11 instructions instead of the current v13 […]
I think I'm going to switch from NextCloud to Seafile.
I only need a Dropbox replacement. Not _all of the stuff Nextcloud has._
And also, Nextcloud randomly likes to trigger Pangolin + CrowdSec to lock me out of my data.

Ich verstehe eh nicht, warum #NextCloud so beliebt ist. Vielleicht weil es viele Features hat und daher in der Theorie auch sehr viele use Cases abbilden kann. In der Praxis läuft es halt wie von dir beschrieben.

It most definitely is. I do recommend however spinning a docker container to test it out locally and do a full evaluation or you could also try #seafile. There are actually plenty of alternatives out there with great community support.

Setup #Seafile to see if it can replace #Nextcloud for me. I don't use anything with #Nextcloud except for the file syncing to replace #Dropbox. #Seafile looks like it should work great as a replacement.
