Positive ⬆️of the no of women elected from 15 to 20 out of 49 seats filled #SeanadElections. The overall gender balance in the Oireachtas and Gov remains disappointing. It is all the more important that the Taoiseach now appoints women in their diversity.

Any NUI voters with opinions about the NUI candidates? So far, I've got cards from Sandra Adams, whose "defend free speech, women's rights and child safeguarding" seems to be an anti-trans platform, Alice Mary Higgins, whose record I know, and Linda O'Shea Farren, unknown to me.
We could avoid a lot of confusion - and show our age - by using the hashtag #SeanadElections.
But that would destroy a lot of entertainment value.
