A lot of #seasidearchitecture during the 1920s was classical in style and simple Tuscan columns were a key feature, particularly of shelters like these at #Blackpool. With 3 levels, the North Shore Promenade dates from the beginning of the decade

One of my favourite bits of #WeymouthPavilion is this patterned wall facing the harbour. It's a real surprise when you turn the corner but the colour plus mix of rough and smooth textures is great #C20seasidearchitecture #seasideheritage #midcenturymodern @c20society.bsky.social
The front of Weymouth Pavilion originally featured mosaic mermaids made of locally sourced shells but sadly the weather got to them and they were covered over in the 1980s. The lower portions can still be seen though #mosaic #seasideheritage
