While exploring a world populated with super-powered people, Synthetik is hired by the local “Hero Guild” to carry out a wetwork mission: kill the former hero-turned predatory kidnapper Night Angel. Though he’s slaughtered most of the supes he’s encountered with ease so far, Night Angel proves to be in a league of her own.

Synthetik Wins: After having dealt with Night Angel, Synthetik investigates her “Observatory” only to find that her captive escaped on their own. He wasn’t hired to rescue them anyway, so he steals the skin of Whisper, Night Angel’s accomplice, in the mean time and goes on his way to collect payment.

Night Angel wins: Grievously wounded in the fight, Night Angel repairs herself by stripping Synthetik’s corpse for parts, until all that’s left is his head. She strips the flesh off his skull with his own knife, bringing it back to taunt her captive that someone was killed and desecrated trying to rescue them (leaving out the part that Synthetik was only there to kill Night Angel, but who’s going to correct her? Synthetik?)

After learning that Lota never knew his family, and that he never got hugged as a kid, Arijotyr always makes sure to give Lota a big hug if he looks blue or frustrated. Lota is always surprised by them, but appreciates the comfort they bring.

After his fight with Night Angel, Synthetik encounters her lackey, Whisper. Synthetik didn’t know how deep Whisper’s involvement was, but unknowingly left the murderer in a state not unlike one of her victims, simply because he wanted to make an invisibility cloak with her superpowers.

Synthetik accidentally released an unspeakable horror back into the galaxy. Even worse, it won’t leave him alone….

I gotta start drawing my characters being more affectionate with each other.

When my romance-type art is mostly just Synthetik fighting yanderes, it might be time to become just a bit less cynical 😅.
