I found out about this red colored salt from Hawaii that's colored that way because of the red clay of the area, which I believe is linked to volcanic activity around the arena. I felt like it could be a fun idea for a Alolan variant for a Pokemon that straight up didn't exist at that time, so that design came about from that inspiration.

The shiny is based off a green variant that I also found for sale that is dyed with sea asparagus.
