This medium sized cat is native to Sub-Saharan Africa and has in the recent years become popular in the exotic pet trade. It is the only member of its particular genus within the Felidae family. 🐆🐆🐆

It’s #SkullSaturday ft the American Black Bear (Ursus americanus)! Present through majority of North America, they can actually be found in a variety of shades despite their name! While known to hibernate, bears located in warmer climates do not always! They are the smallest bear species in NA!

Happy #SkullSaturday with the nine-banded armadillo (Dasypus novemcinctus)! Nine-banded armadillos are the most widespread of the armadillos living across the Americas. They cannot roll fully into a ball like the three banded armadillo and many species rely on their abandoned burrows for shelter!

Happy #SkullSaturday with my Alaskan coastal wolf 🐺! Called the Alexander Archipelago wolf (Canis lupus logon), this is a subspecies of grey wolf that is smaller and darker with a primary diet of salmon, black-tailed deer, and bear! Like many wolves, they are listed as Vulnerable by IUCN.

Their range is west coast between US and Canada. They are considered endangered in Canada 🇨🇦

Happy #SkullSaturday featuring a hammer-headed bat 🦇 Hypsignathus monstrosus is the only bat of this genus and is the largest in sub Saharan Africa! They have a large wing span of 1 meter and have marked sexual dimorphism!

They are of least concern on the IUCN red list!

Happy #SkullSaturday! Here we have two Puma concolor skulls! Top is a museum specimen. Known as mountain lion, cougar, puma, Florida panther, and catamount, these cats used to span all through the United States and down to South American in Patagonia. Eastern subspecies has been declared extinct.
