Just watched Look Back (2024) at Scotland Loves Anime, London
I felt personally attacked like I did with the one-shot but it was kino 🥲

While the plot may seem simplistic at first glance, "Ghost Cat Anzu" explores deeper themes of friendship, self-discovery, and the importance of respecting nature and tradition. #sla2024 www.geeknative.com/1...
Sand Land visually captures the essence of Akira Toriyama’s distinctive art style, known for its blend of cartoonish exaggeration and detailed mechanical designs. #sla2024 www.geeknative.com/1...
Totto-chan: The Little Girl at the Window is a heartwarming anime film that celebrates the wonder and innocence of childhood with bittersweet innocence. #sla2024 www.geeknative.com/1...
The main character in The Colours Within is Catholic schoolgirl Totsuko Higurashi, who sees people as colours, like someone with synaesthesia. She idolises Kimi, who is blue, and befriends Rui, who is green. #sla2024 www.geeknative.com/1...
The world of Kuramerukagari would make a fantastic tabletop RPG, but it fell short of being a fantastic anime. #sla2024 www.geeknative.com/1...
Trapezium is a thought-provoking and only slightly flawed film. Its exploration of the dark side of idol culture is compelling, but its morally ambiguous protagonist and underdeveloped supporting characters prevent it from being truly satisfying #sla2024 www.geeknative.com/1...
Heading home after a banger #SLA2024. It was great catching up with folks again~
Totto-chan was an easy favourite for me, but it was a very solid year. I'll be very happy if 2025 maintains that level of quality.
Also, confirm next year's dates early please, it's a nightmare getting time off work!
Really no stand out "really good" new film this year. Nothing outright awful, but no 5/5 films either (except Promare, but that isn't new lol). #SLA2024
Excited for [Scotland Loves Anime, London] happening next week after seeing all these #SLA2024 posts!!!
Look Back is a masterfully crafted anime that must surely resonate with viewers emotionally. Its poignant story, well-developed characters, and stunning visuals make it a truly unforgettable experience. #sla2024 www.geeknative.com/1...
While Kurayuababoasts a visually stunning and unique world, its slow pacing and somewhat opaque plot may leave some viewers unsatisfied. www.geeknative.com/1... #sla2024
Watched Kuramerukagari, please Tsukahara, if you keep making these short films, make a TV series or keep putting the Wilhelm scream in every project. #sla2024
We're back for the final day. #sla2024
But where were the chemicals, largers and mega mega white things 2/5. (Kidding it was really good, gave it a 4/5) #SLA2024 #TheColorWithin
Shoebill watching very closely to this years Audience Award films. #SLA2024
Did somebody say The Dark?! #SLA2024 #Kureyukaba
A still from A Few Moments of Cheers, showing a young woman stood on stage singing into a microphone
“A Few Moments of Cheers” took a while to find its footing, but hits its stride exploring a theme close to a lot of us: when do we stop trying to be creatives, and get “real jobs”?
Teachers shouldn’t be giving their phone numbers to students, though.

The poster for The Birth of Kitaro: The Mystery of GeGeGe, showing the franchise’s protagonist Kitaro, a young boy. He is stood in front of a window covered in bloody hand prints.
“Birth of Kitaro: The Mystery of GeGeGe” was surprisingly dark and grizzly, but an incredible example of J-horror fuelled by Yokai folklore.
An absolute shame that it will mostly go unnoticed in the west.
Also, Sayo did nothing wrong. #ScotlandLovesAnime #SLA2024
Unbelievably, I've not seen any Code Geass before, and I still easily followed and enjoyed Rozé of the Recapture. #sla2024 www.geeknative.com/1...

Before creating masterpieces like Spirited Away and My Neighbour Totoro, legendary animator Hayao Miyazaki directed his first feature film, The Castle of Cagliostro. www.geeknative.com/1... #sla2024
Good to see Promare in the cinema again. Thanks to @liceas.bsky.social for the note about triangles vs squares, not sure I'd properly recognised that in prior watches. #SLA2024 @lovesanimation.bsky.social
