Ok so I'm back at it, this time running #FreeBSD on a Dell Optiplex 7040 that I couldn't quite get a good #Slackware install going. #KDE Plasma6 runs much better on the i7 vs the Ryzen3 on my Inspiron 3585. Feels pretty nice. Might even bump this old machine to 32GB and an nvidia RTX 3050 6GB

Don't forget the #BSD family of OSes when moving away from #systemd infected systems. I daily drive #Slackware, but have a couple of #FreeBSD systems and as a workstation, it's solid. I worked with it for years in mini frame and network devices so it was an easy lift...

Care to cite? With the hundreds (thousands?) of packages available to #Slackware via #SlackBuilds and #AlienBob to make it a fully functional client/server, I'm not seeing Pat move in that direction...
