Smithfield and Billingsgate: Meat and fish markets to close Smithfield and Billingsgate markets, which have traded in London for hundreds of years, face the axe.

Absolutely disgraceful from the unelected Corp. of London.

If they asked the public, I'm sure they would see that more unaffordable central London flats are not wanted, if it means the loss of vital, cultural & commercial heritage.
