An image of a fairly calm sea with gentle ripples fading off into the horizon. A large fluffy cloud sits in the center of the frame almost directly at the horizon line. There is a faint shadow of land, but it could almost just be another wave in the distance. Shot in very bright sun, the water's surface is very reflective. The motion of the waves plus residual ripples from the photographer's boat mean it's capturing the colours of the sky beautifully, but not the shapes. A mixture of clouds that are more like a soft haze topped with a few more distinct streaks adds to the impression that the sea simply fades into a soft mix of pastel blue and pale gold sky. At the very top of the frame the cloud cover disappears leaving a pure blue sky. NIKON D610 AF-S Nikkor 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR Exposure: 1/400s Aperture: f/10 ISO: 100 Focal Length: 82.0mm
Before the world
stripped you
of wonder and whimsy
for purpose and productivity
you knew the sky
was climbable
if only
you could swim
close enough
