I don't know if I'm going to continue making analyses in this style for future episodes, since my last 3 brain cells are exhausted but I wanted to share this as a framework to help deciph-

To best illustrate that, we see Marin freely navigate all the aforementioned dimensions, and yet, Gojo stays calm and peaceful despite the changing distance and position between them; a far cry from his initial panic at exploring these new social distances.

But only one made sense to him, which is that he would be equal in expressing his passion. So, he accepts.

So then Marin asks Gojo to help her realize her passion, to which he cycles through all the various dimensions he can think of in his mind, searching for one that would tell him what his role is in relation to her so that he can answer appropriately

Finally, everything flips as none of the dividing lines strictly hold up anymore. There's no mutual exclusivity to their positions now. They're both up, down, left, right and all the planes in between; and depending on the specific situation, one will shine through.

and in doing so we see Marin move from what initially appears to be the right to what appears to be the left, which is then subverted to be shown as the right as she crosses multiple divides then settling in the centre with multiple axes of divide behind her

We then see both Gojo and Marin leave the divide behind.

but since he asks with genuine care & honesty, the divide blurs again and fades into the background, then finally disappearing as he expresses genuine interest in her passion; not returning for the rest of the episode.

Following that, Gojo speaks his mind clearly (and somewhat rudely) for the first time in the episode. Thus, the divide starts forming again as it becomes clear how disparate their knowledge of sewing is.

With Marin & what she's passionate about

and in doing so he crosses the divide yet again while depicted at the centre, which is the second time he felt equal so far.

Equal with what, you ask?

which is indicated by him turning around and utilizing a third dimension. His world grew drastically due to this encounter compared to where he was.

Now that his world expanded as he used more axes to navigate, he asks about what Marin is passionate about

As seen above, the divide is now blurred with them being the closest to equal thus far in axial position regarding right and left but with a difference in vertical displacement.

Of note here is that the divide understandably returns when Marin suddenly starts

After repeatedly crossing the divide and seeing that no negative consequences happened, he mustered the courage to overtly cross it again with the purpose of sharing what he loves.

Since the world didn't come to an end when he shared his passion with Marin, he unconsciously inched ever so closely towards the dividing line, briefly crossing it even, as if to test the waters.

and as this perceptual conflict concludes with her expressing her excitement, Marin stays perfectly centred in the shot, indicating that Gojou, finally, allowed himself to stand equal with someone else, even if briefly, and by accident.

Now as the cracks in his perception start falling apart, we see Marin's true feelings show themselves with a centred but titled face that tells of curiosity.

Even though he forced himself to be leftwards of Marin, she still stayed centered in the screen. Despite that, Gojou still falsely perceived her to be furthest from him to right with an exaggerated overtaking look of horror that invades his perception.

But since he's so scared to share what he loves, he instinctually dives after the doll, forcing himself into the position of a student. Only listening and not sharing as he shields himself from what he expects to be a very negative reaction.

with his craftmanship & sense of aesthetics.

And as he is *thrust* into that role, he accidentally reveals his driving passion, the hina doll. This is symbolised with the doll moving from the right side (his = teacher) towards the left (Marin's = student).

But that flow does not last too long before it's reversed. When Gojou got into his groove at school he unwittingly revealed what he's good at, sewing. As such he's depicted on the right when he's in his element, indicating that Gojou has a lesson to give & teach..

Now back to EP1. It's worth noting that immediately after the classroom exchange between Marin and Gojo, we saw Gojo's grandpa placed in a manner similar to Marin. I take this as a sign that Gojo views the people that he admires as teachers he can learn from.

Also, funnily enough, this gag in EP2 hinged on Marin taking on the teacher role and answering questions

Reflecting more on this motif, we see that it's utilized from this point onwards in the show in many important moments with an evolving dichotomy between the two leads. Actually, it's been present since the very first shot of EP1 and has been a major part of the OP ..

Rewinding to the scene prior to this. We can see that it ended on this shot of Marin teaching a figurative *class* from Gojo's perspective after saying the words that resonated with Gojo so deeply.
