My first illustration of a short series based on my OC, Squareman as he’s just born. It’s a black baby adorned with curly dark brown hair , swaddled in a red cloth, being held by his father’s hand who matches his complexion. It is the visual of first person perspective as we look at the baby laughing. The baby is surrounded by black star shaped creatures that float like hummingbirds around the baby. The medium is a mixture of traditional marker on Bristol paper, then added details using the pen tool in Procreate.
