Spending 4 days at #srcd25 last week has filled my professional heart and was exactly what I needed. Spending time in community w/ my academic family left me inspired & hopeful that we can be creative in moving forward supporting our work & advocating for our most vulnerable children & communities.
Back from #SRCD25 and now I have to explain to my department that, yes indeed I had cheese curds every single day... 🧀
Led to fruitful discussions! 🤍 Thank you @samuelronfard.bsky.social @lucaspbutler.bsky.social @anahidmodrek.bsky.social, Joshua Confer! #SRCD25
Wrapped up #SRCD25 by learning about the history of flour milling in Minneapolis at the Mill City Museum! A super cool end to an awesome week catching up with all my favorite developmental scientists! #supportscience #childrenmatter
Hen House Eatery in Minneapolis. Very blunt. Very honest. Very delicious. No food pics cause it was too delicious to take the time to document. #SupportLocal #Travel #Postdoc #Brunch #SRCD25
#SRCD25 was a success!
I chaired my first symposium and had amazing conversations with colleagues in the field. Looking forward to #SRCD27!

Final talk was by Selina Fu & @jessicas.bsky.social on children’s reward allocations within collaborations.
Selina gave a beautiful and crystal clear presentation (as an undergrad)! So exciting to meet the next generation pushing fairness research forward with such fresh questions.
#SRCD25
Continuing the distributional fairness topic, I presented my work with Amrisha Vaish, where we show that we’re able to move 4-year-olds’ and adults’ evaluations of unfairness by emphasizing the salience of harm (to a degree).

…which was followed by @felixwa.bsky.social’s talk on distributive fairness. He showed his labs exciting work on *implicit* inequity aversion.
As a side note, I took a lot of pictures of Felix’s talk because of how cleanly the concepts and findings were presented.

@montanashore.bsky.social & Peter Blake show that “by 7-8 years of age, children endorse a range of procedures as better than an egalitarian option” —> Beautiful presentation and an exciting line of work!
It was great to start off the symposium with procedural fairness…

Gave my talk “The role of harm salience on children’s and adults’ perceptions of unfairness” at #SRCD25 yesterday (forgot to post here because it was the last session).
Grateful to present among such thoughtful and inspiring researchers:

The Puentes Project was well represented at #SRCD25. Shout out to our wonderful postdoc presenters and all their great research on rural Latine families.
Thank you, #SRCD25! See you next time in Atlanta!
Super interesting & well done talk by @yukomunakata.bsky.social to cap off #SRCD25. Executive function is not a static cognitive ability “in the head” of children, but rather is influenced adaptively by environment, habits, and culture.

Our symposium on “Psychology of Religious Development: A Cross-cultural Analysis” was a blast (and yes, I may be biased as one of the co-chairs).

Not impressed by the coffee options (and long lines) in the Minneapolis Convention Center for #SRCD25? There’s a Caribou coffee a 7 min walk away at 11th & Nicolette. ☕️
Looking forward to three days of engaging discussions and valuable insights into child development research at #SRCD25 in Minneapolis, MN, USA.
