ミンスパイついでにスターゲイジーパイも焼いておりました。
コーンウォールのマウゼル村発祥の郷土料理です。伝統的に12月23日に食べられるこのパイは冬の嵐の海に出漁し魚を獲った漁師さんを讃えて作られたそうです。
独創的な形は中にしっかり魚が入っていることを示すためのものだそうですが、危険な海で太陽や星を頼りに、また常に天候を読んで船を操る漁師さんのためのと思えば、なるほど納得のStargazyです。
作るのは三度目なのですが、今回は頂き物のかぼちゃと鰯で。魔女宅みたいに一度ニシンでも作ってみたいところです。🍽️
