🚧 St Benet’s Update
Discharge pipework, incl. breather pipes, is now complete. Outfall channel excavation & floodbank reinstatement nearly finished. Handrailing, decking & pile copings underway at the wet well.

Installation of the pumps, weed screen & cleaner, outfall structures and discharge pipework is now complete. The pipework is currently undergoing testing ahead of reinstating the flood bank.

🚧 St Benet’s – Progress Update
Construction of the reinforced concrete base slab for the wet well is advancing. The slab will form the sump for the new pumps and also acts as a key structural element, bracing the 21-metre-long steel piles.

The rain held off for the annual outdoor service at St Benet’s Abbey on Sunday 27 July.

The only monastery in England not closed by Henry VIII but given to the Bishop of Norwich.

Each summer, as Abbot of the Abbey, the Bishop holds a service of prayer and worship.

Piling for the wet well is now complete ✅
Excavation for the outfall and control building base is done and ready for reinforced concrete pile caps.
Piles are essential here due to soft clay and peat down to 18.3m below ground!
