Installation of the pumps, weed screen & cleaner, outfall structures and discharge pipework is now complete. The pipework is currently undergoing testing ahead of reinstating the flood bank.

The control building base is also in place — part of our modular design approach bringing delivery standardisation and efficiency.

Work is now underway installing steel reinforcement for the wet well liner and central wall.
Formwork is being set up for the concrete pour, and by the end of September the main civils for the wet well will be complete.

💧 During the summer, our Environmental Team carries out dissolved oxygen monitoring every 3 weeks at pumping stations across the #BroadsIDB
Why? Because dissolved oxygen levels can drop in warmer months—and when they get too low, it can lead to #fish kills. Regular monitoring helps us act quickly 🌊🐟

Construction of the reinforced concrete base slab for the wet well is advancing. The slab will form the sump for the new pumps and also acts as a key structural element, bracing the 21-metre-long steel piles.

Piles are essential here due to soft clay and peat down to 18.3m below ground!
