My beloved Carl gained his wings on 8/24/25. He is now whole and healed and I am broken. Grieving for him is so much harder than caring for him. I'm so lucky to have found #truelove. We held hands every day since our wedding day.

Movie poster for Four Weddings and a Funeral, starring Hugh Grant and Andie MacDowell. Photograph of people gathered around a coffin which is half-spread with a wedding feast, the priest at the left, an exuberant man in top hat and tails at the other throwing confetti in the air. In front of the table is a sheep.

15/ Another one that lurches from laughter to tears, and I'm including it not only because it incredibly entertaining, but because it made great poetry fashionable again ... for a moment. #stopalltheclocks

'Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone'
Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone,
Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone,
Silence the pianos and with muffled drum
Bring out the coffin, let the mourners come.

Let aeroplanes circle moaning overhead
Scribbling on the sky the message He Is Dead,
Put crepe bows round the white necks of the public doves,
Let the traffic policemen wear black cotton gloves.

He was my North, my South, my East and West,
My working week and my Sunday rest,
My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song;
I thought that love would last for ever: I was wrong.

The stars are not wanted now: put out every one;
Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun;
Pour away the ocean and sweep up the wood;
For nothing now can ever come to any good.

W H Auden
