Full 2023–24 season results of universal prophylaxis with nirsevimab in Galicia, Spain: the NIRSE-GAL study In April, 2024, we reported on mid-season findings from NIRSE-GAL, a population-based longitudinal study on the effectiveness of universal nirsevimab prophylaxis against respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) in infants aged 0–24 months in Galicia, Spain.1 Our early findings aligned with other interim real-world studies on the considerable effectiveness of nirsevimab in preventing RSV-related hospitalisations for lower respiratory tract infections (LRTIs).2 The immunisation campaign in Galicia (which ran from Sept 25, 2023, to March 31, 2024) is described elsewhere.
