Good morning
A 2nd dry day in prospect which is a joy
Real breakthrough yesterday: still no internet but the hotspot on OH’s phone (previously not working) sprang into life so able to download the paper onto iPads
Poor eyesight makes restriction to phone very difficult

Lunch with friends👍
Reading The Times on my iPad is a part of my normal morning routine. I haven’t been able to do so since last Friday when we boarded our overnight ferry then arrived to no internet because of #StormNils
Tbh, not sure how much I’m actually missing it?

The old bridge over the Garonne at Marmande, normally a high suspension bridge. We believe the height of the river (extensively flooded now for some days) is beginning to recede a little. Long way to go though.

Still pretty grim down here after #StormNils but we live in hopes!

Several trees down here, so now begins the giant Jenga game of tidying up.
Getting wild out there. Storm Nils is moving in over the straits. Now the skies wouldn't be out of place over the Morgul Vale and the wind is howling to rival a pack of wolves.
Of course I need to go to the shop.

Storm Nils: 374,000 private homes in Occitanie without power, of which 37,000 in Aude.
It’s been one hell of a day in our part of France. So many trees down. Hundreds of thousands with power for hours. So much damage. So many roads closed. At least our power is back on again, a major achievement for the teams out there in heavy rain. 🇫🇷 #StormNils
🌧️ Rainfall and winds from #StormNils were intensified by climate change.
