On a folding table designed for use in bed there lays a binder, loose leaf papers with notes, hand-drawn dungeon maps as well as my current character sheet. A handful of dice are scattered about the desk and on the laptop found to the left of the image with pdfs for 2D6 Dungeon open. Could I have bought grid paper? Yes. Did I decide instead to measure the lines on loose leaf and make my own grid paper so I could keep using the papers I have? Also yes
