three supported spindles (from left to right: phang-style, Russian, Tibetan-style) with some dark brown singles spun onto them are placed atop an old-school, quite romantic, flowery bit of wrapping paper. a rolled up and felted ball of cat hair is placed in the upper right section awaiting its turn to become a plying ball.
while the spindles are now almost naked, the plying ball is proudly taking up more space in the picture. Only the Russian spindle is completely yarn-free, showing off its beautiful design.
