With the US #shutdown at the horizon, how does it work with #synchrotrons #bigscience facilities? A sudden shutdown, uninviting the users, who prepared their experiments, paid for flights, accommodations? Is the beamtime lost?

#Synchrotrons want plug-and-play staff who raise the level instantly in DataScience. Xray expertise, on-the-job training no longer count. With hiring freezes, staff is consumed, not developed.
